Top Place to Use Your Headshot

Let’s talk about Headshots. You're probably thinking “I know, I know, they’re important. Next!” But hang with me for a second. Headshots can make a really big impact and are still pretty underutilized, whether they’ve invested in them or not. So rather than talk about why they’re important, because “we get it” right? Let’s dig into all the different ways you can be using your headshots to get the most out of your investment and get that real good name face recognition!

Social Media - Not just your emoticon, post that beautiful face of yours on your feed every 9-12 posts. Let people get to know you, feel like when they are reading your social media copy that they can actually picture you having that conversation with them. We are emotional, social people right, give your people a face to connect to.

Email Signatures - Yep same idea as the social media copy. You may not get the chance to grab a cup of coffee with everyone you email but seeing your face at the end of your message every time builds your connection with them. Sometimes we feel like we personally know characters from our favorite tv show, or celebrities we see in the news because we have spent so much time looking at their faces! Become your audience's favorite character, but in real life.

Your website - if you have one, or the company’s you work for! About me pages on a website often get a bad rep. And its pretty fair, they can be overly eccentric and not seem to relate to the business at all or so impersonal that you feel zero connection to the person/people behind an amazing company you might otherwise love. Using your headshot here to personalize your page and talk about you, as it relates to what you do.

Your Media Package -Whether you're an artist, musician or not, having a media package with your headshot, logo, mission statement, or CV makes it really easy for galleries, venues, or publications to promote your work!

Blogs - If you are writing a blog that will be featured on someone else's platform incorporate your headshot. This is a great way to  increase your exposure by addressing someone else's audience, much like speaking at an event it introduces you to new people. And what makes a lasting first impression, a welcome smile or great handshake. And on the internet, we call that a headshot!

Print Mailers - Do you send anything out to clients, prospects, or other businesses? Then you should find a way to tastefully put your face on it.

Business cards - Have you ever gone through your wallet and sifted through business cards and thought to yourself, oops, I can't remember who that is? Having your headshot on your business card will jog their memory of who you are and limit the chances of oops!

If you want to talk about how to improve your headshots, or get the most out of your next headshot session send me an email! Hopefully you’ve found a few new places to put your headshot. Now go out and make an impression on my friend!!
